The brake linings in bands and plates are the most frequently used materials in the industry of friction. Casted or woven brake linings are available in the bands of the length from 5 to 10 m. The width of the band is from 5 to 350 mm in the range of 1 mm, thickness is from 3 to 22 mm and also in the range of 1 mm. The brake plates are of the following dimension: 690 x 590 or 500 x 500 mm, thickness is from 2 to 22 mm and in the range of 1 mm, too. Brake clutches and safety clutches are covered within the sphere of the industrial friction. Their clutching must be soft and soundless, therefore special materials have been developod for those purposes.
